All of the female Ariels have shoes that are the same style and reflect their individual elements. Lynda Cameron-Bayer did the makeup on each of the spirits as well. She wanted them to each be their own individual elements, while still remaining cohesive. For earth, she wanted to create a costume that didn’t just resemble soil, but rather she focused the costume around the idea of granite. Air had bubbles on her costume, made of clear christmas ornaments. Her cape is also intended to resemble a tornado. Little details such as these are vital to the character of Ariel.
