Centennial Park has been home to the Nashville Shakespeare Festival during the summer since their first performance of 1988. With the mission to make Shakespeare accessible for the community in Nashville, Centennial was the perfect place to gather and the Nashville Shakespeare Festival credits Centennial for creating such a success. However, the Nashville Shakespeare Festival has outgrew Centennial and they then looked around the community to see where they could grow the festival. At last they came across ONEC1TY, an innovative community set in the heart of Nashville that houses the perfect lawn to enact Shakespeare on. With the beautiful production of The Tempest, it’s clear that ONECity holds a bright future for many other shows to come.
